Lux is a light festival in Wellington, New Zealand, as a group we were asked to design a portable light piece that would be presented to the festival with the possibility of being picked as part of Lux 2018.
In our group of 3 we chose to play with light and water, making a Tron inspired suit out of wetsuits, EL wire and Led lights also experimenting with fiber optic cable.
The concept involved 5 suits that would appear, preform for a short period and then disappear. The performances would be scheduled through each night for peak times. This was to avoid tiring the divers wearing the suits and stop them from getting too cold (even with two wetsuits on).
We were fortunate enough to be chosen to participate in Lux, however the limited funding meant this unfortunately wasn’t possible.
